For this week, my group came together to understand the problem we are trying to solve. What’s the problem? Something about course reviews. Or was it professor reviews? Maybe course planning?

We started with a very specific idea of what features we wanted, but not necessarily why people would need them. Because it’s cool! Because it’s helpful! Because those other websites suck! Because it’ll be fun to make!

Tossing our Developer thinking caps aside for our shiny new UX ones, we came together to discuss our ideas, create a data collection plan, and understand the data through an experience map.

I contributed during the brainstorming session by providing my opinions. In addition, I helped encourage my teammates to use the 5 Whys. As a group, we all contributed to the creation of the Google form survey questions. After we had collected enough data, I participated in group discussions about where to place data sticky notes on the experience map. Experience maps are quite new to us, so it was a great exercise to force us to think outside our boxes.
